Create your first AI survey
Pollarix's AI wizard generates a complete, ready-to-send survey from a single sentence describing your goal. This tutorial walks you through creating, previewing, and saving your first AI-generated survey.

1. Open the AI wizard
Navigate to Surveys in the left sidebar. Click the Create with AI button at the top of the page.
You should see the AI wizard open with a text field asking "What do you want to learn?"
2. Describe your goal
Type a clear, specific goal into the text field. Aim for at least 50 characters — the more context you provide, the better the result.
Use this example for your first try:
Measure customer satisfaction with our support team's response time, friendliness, and issue resolution
You should see the character count update below the text field. Click Continue to proceed.
"Measure customer satisfaction with our support team" produces better results than "customer survey." Include what you want to learn and who you're asking.
3. Pick a suggestion
The AI analyzes your goal and generates survey suggestions. Each suggestion shows a title, description, target audience, and estimated completion time.
Click the suggestion that best matches your intent. For this tutorial, pick the first Recommended suggestion.
After selecting, you'll see a Quick Customize panel. Leave the defaults for now:
- Language: English
- Questions: ~10
- Display mode: Traditional
Click Continue to move to the interview step.
The wizard may ask 3-5 follow-up questions to refine your survey (target audience, pain points, goals). You can answer them for better results or click Skip and generate to proceed immediately.
4. Generate the survey
Click Generate (or Skip and generate if you're on the interview step). The AI builds your survey in real time.
You should see a progress animation with status messages:
- "Analyzing your goals..."
- "Generating questions..."
- "Validating survey..."
- "Refining content..."
Generation takes 30-90 seconds. When it's done, a success message appears with your survey preview.
Error: Generation fails with a timeout or error message.
Cause: The AI service is temporarily busy or your connection was interrupted.
Fix: Click Retry to regenerate. If the error persists, go back and simplify your goal description.
5. Preview and save
You should see a preview card showing:
- Survey title and description
- Question count and page count
- Estimated completion time
- Question type breakdown (ratings, multiple choice, open-ended, etc.)
Review the summary to confirm it matches your intent. Then click Quick Create to save the survey immediately.
You should see a success notification and land on your new survey's detail page.
Advanced: edit before saving
If you want to modify questions before saving, click Edit and Save instead of Quick Create. This opens the full survey editor where you can:
- Reorder, add, or remove questions
- Edit question text and answer choices
- Add conditional logic
- Change the theme
Save from the editor when you're done.
You're all set
You've created your first AI-generated survey. It's saved in your dashboard and ready to distribute. The entire process — from describing your goal to having a complete survey — takes under 5 minutes.
